Abstract

1426621 Bearings HOESCH WERKE AG 22 Jan 1973 [28 Jan 1972] 3146/73 Heading F2A A hydrostatic bearing assembly comprises an inner ring having a recess which provides two radially extending bearing surfaces and an axially extending bearing surface, and an outer ring 10 having an inwardly projecting flange which is received in the recess and has corresponding bearing surfaces. Each bearing surface of the inner ring is provided with at least one pocket 21, 31 for pressurized bearing fluid. Fluid is fed to the pockets via ducts 24, 35 and returns via ducts (25, 34, Fig. 2, not shown), the duets being located solely in the inner ring. The pockets may be formed in plastics liners (40, Fig. 3, not shown) which are placed between the rings.
