An air cooled engine has an air cooling impeller 3, an engine starting ring 13 secured to the impeller and a pinion 12 in threaded engagement with a screw threaded portion 11 of the shaft of a starter motor 9 and disposed for engaging the starter ring to rotate the impeller and the crank-shaft 2 of the engine for starting the engine.
