Abstract

1,215,599. Heat transfers. INTERNATIONAL NICKEL Ltd. 9 Dec., 1968 [15 Dec., 1967], Nos. 57142/67 and 52433/68. Heading B6C. [Also in Division G2] A method of transferring developed xerographic images on a sheet to objects unsuitable for passage through a copying machine comprises placing the image-bearing surface of the sheet in contact with the surface of the object and applying heat and pressure whereby toner particles are transferred and fused to the object. Prior to transfer the image-bearing sheet is heated sufficiently for the toner particles to adhere to the sheet, which is preferably a silicone impregnated parchment. The transferred image may be covered with a transparent lacquer or varnish.
