Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain superposed transfer of good registration by pressing a transfer material attracted electrostatically to a meshed screen or the like which is held elastically, onto the surface of a toner carrier and transferring images. CONSTITUTION:The end parts of a meshed screen 332 are elastically held to a cylinder 331 by means of the elastic members 333 of the cylinder 331 forming a transfer drum 33. Transfer paper is attracted electrostatically to said screen 332. This transfer paper is pressed onto the surface of a photosensitive drum, whereby the images are transferred. According to this constitution, the irregular pressing of the transfer paper by the waving of the surface of the meshed screen is compensated and the irregular transfer is prevented, whereby the multiple transfer of good registration is effected. The similar results are obtained by using a film in lieu of the meshed screen.
