Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent toner explosion and obtain an excellent copy, by preheating the transfer sheet before the transfer process by utilizing the heat for heat fixing of toner visible image in electrophotographic copying.
CONSTITUTION: Silicone rubber rollers 12a, 12b are provided closely to a heat fixing device 11 so as to be heated by a heater 13. When a transfer sheet passes between the rollers, the transfer sheet 7 is preheated, and is then transferred by a corona generating device 3. After transferring, the transfer sheet 7 is sent into the heat fixing device 11, and is fixed by the heater 13. When one component magnetic toner is used, toner explosion does not occur, so that an excellent copy image may be obtained, even when the humidity is high, without causing transfer failure. Besides, since heat source is not needed, the apparatus may be miniaturized without increasing the power consumption.
