Abstract

1,215,222. Lubricants. OELWERK TEDDEN G.m.b.H. 17 Jan., 1968, No. 2486/68. Heading C5F. An aqueous lubricant and mould release agent comprises (i) an asphaltic substance having a melting point of at least 160‹ C., (ii) a boundary lubricant comprising at least 50 wt. per cent graphite, and (iii) a cellulose ester thickener in an amount which renders the mixture thixotropic; (i) and (ii) having a particle size less than 50Á; (ii) may also comprise molybdenum disulphide, silica or silicates. The composition may also contain an antifreeze agent, e.g. C 1 -C 3 polyhydric alcohols, CaCl 2 and ZnCl 2 and an antiskinning agent, e.g. guaiacol, hydroquinone or oximes.
