Abstract
1326115 Refractory composition KONINKLIJKE NEDERLANDSCHE HOOGOVENS EN STAALFABRIEKEN NV 2 Oct 1970 [6 Oct 1969] 47019/70 Heading C1J A refractory lining substance comprises granular refractory, about 30% of which is sieve fractions between 1 and 3 mm., the remainder being finer, and which comprises at least 75 wt. per cent granular burnt magnesite; 8-15% tar containing at least 70% pitch with a C 2 -resin content of 9-11%; and 0-15 wt. per cent ground coal. The granular refractory may, in addition, contain Cr 2 O 3 . The substance is applied to pig iron troughs and the like and is bonded together by the first application of heat from a molten metal charge.
