Abstract
Magnesite-chrome shaped bodies, e.g. bricks, consisting of 70% to 80% sintered magnesia and at least 20% chromite, by weight are produced by directly working into shape a mix comprising chromite of grain size less than 0,2 mm., of which at least 40% preferably 70%, is less than 0,06 mm. Suitably, 10% to 50% of the sintered magnesia is of grain size 1,7 to 4,5 mm. the remainder not exceeding 1,5 mm. Specification 468,456 is referred to.
