Abstract

A mould having sufficient porosity to extract water from ceramic materials such as porcelain moulded therein is formed from a mixture comprising 60 to 64% by volume of Al2O3 and 33 to 29% by volume of SiO2 in the form of clay, and 7% by volume of MgO, present as a flux; the mixture being fired at about 1450 DEG C.
