Abstract

Globe-holders.-In a miner's electric lamp, a china bulb-holder and contact base G is held frictionally against a shoulder within the lamp head by a rubber washer E so as to be easily removable when the lamp-head has been taken off. Access can thus be had to the bulb and the interior of the glass B without detaching the latter from the lamp-head. The glass may be clamped between the washer E and an upper washer B<2> by an internal flange on the sheet-metal lamp head and by a sheet-metal ring F, which is notched to pass four metal blocks D and has inclined surfaces riding in grooves in the blocks so that after insertion it can be secured by less than a quarter turn. The metal blocks D, which are held by the screwed lower ends of the cage-bars C<1>, are unequally spaced and enter notches in a flange of the bulb holder G so that this can only be inserted in one position.
