Abstract
121,240. Jones, J. Rymer-. March 21, 1918. Scales. - A scale for reducing or increasing mechanical drawings in any required ratio comprises a series of concentric circle segments subtending the same angle and divided by radial lines into a number of sub-segments having different values, as indicated by numbers on the upper circular scale, which are in proportion to the length of chord subtended by the arcs. The concentric circles are numbered at the side in proportion to the distance from the centre a. The instrument is mounted on a board and is used in conjunction with a measuring-lath r, Fig. 2, which may be pivoted at the centre and clamped in the desired position, and also with pegs which may be inserted in holes at the side of the apparatus in order to indicate which segment or arc is being utilized.
