Abstract

1,210,881. Pneumatic despatch apparatus. CENTRALSUG AB. 1 March, 1968, No. 10206/68. Heading B8A. A pneumatic despatch system consisting of stations connected by horizontal and vertical rectangular-section conveyer tubes comprises, at each junction between a horizontal and a vertical tube, guide means for maintaining the base of a carrier horizontal during its passage from one tube to the other. As shown, when a carrier is to be transferred from the horizontal tube 2 to the vertical tube 1, flaps 6a, 6b, normally aligned with the wall of the tube 1, are pivoted by pneumatic rams 15a to the horizontal dashed-line position in which they are aligned with the walls of the tube 2 and permit suction through a pipe line 30a, when a solenoid valve 33a is opened, to be connected to the tube 2. When the carrier has passed into the tube 1, the flaps 6a, 6b are pivoted to the vertical position. Each carrier, Fig. 5 (not shown), is provided with sealing strips to engage the horizontal and vertical walls of the conveyer tubes and with adjustable permanent magnets, the positions of which determine the receiving and delivery stations. A circuit diagram, Fig. 10 (not shown), is provided showing the control circuit for a conveyer system, Fig. 9 (not shown).
