Abstract

1408439 Pneumatic conveyers SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN AB 19 Oct 1972 [27 Oct 1971] 48225/72 Heading B8A Pneumatic transport of laundry, refuse or other discrete articles is provided by a main horizontal duct and a plurality of vertical branch ducts which are connected to the main duct by valve means comprising a tubular reciprocable member which in one position allows communication between the ducts and in the other prevents it. In the Figure, branch duct 3 is connected to main duct 4 via joint 2 which contains a tubular vertically reciprocable portion 1 which in its upper position allows communication and in its lower position forms an extension of duct 3 to the far wall of joint 2, thus preventing articles in duct 3 from being conveyed into main duct 4 by air entering at 2c.
