In a pneumatic conveyer system for delivering stockings or other light articles of different sizes from an inlet hopper 11, Fig. 2, to selected receivers H<SP>1</SP>, H<SP>2</SP>, H<SP>3</SP>, a main delivery line 10 has multiple branch outlets B<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>2</SP>, B<SP>3</SP> into which jets of compressed air J<SP>1</SP>, J<SP>2</SP>, J<SP>3</SP> are selectively blown so as to draw the articles out of the main tube 10 into the selected branch. Solenoid valves V<SP>1</SP>, V<SP>2</SP>, V<SP>3</SP> controlling the jets incorporate holding circuits with time delay devices operating for sufficient time to permit the complete delivery. The valves may be selected by push-buttons or may be selected automatically by the size adjustments made to the knitting machines.
