Abstract

1,024,703. Pneumatic conveyers. P.BEASLEY & CO. Ltd. Aug. 29, 1962 [May 31, 1961], No. 19648/61. Heading B8A. A pneumatic conveyer system adapted for use in delivering knitted articles from a plurality of knitting machines to a common delivery station 18, Fig. 4, comprises a number of main delivery conduits 14 having multiple branches associated with each machine and leading to separate discharge boxes 17, 19, 20 to which the main suction is applied through a common line 26 and control valve 27 which shuts off the suction after each delivery. A step-by-step electric contact selector device (Fig. 8, not shown) controls the sequential opening of the branches and the closing of valve 27. Each delivery box has a pivoted flap 41, Fig. 6 (not shown) which falls to release the articles each time the suction is cut off. A solenoid device 44 similarly controlled by the selector device, re-closes the flap 41 after each delivery.
