[Also in Division G3] The flow of a heat fusible adhesive in solid form 8 to a heated tank 2, wherein it is melted for use, is controlled according to the level of the melt in the tank. The adhesive is applied to a substrate by a roller 1 with a doctor blade 4 and is fed to the tank as an extrusion through a larger pipe or channel 9 from an extruder 5 whose motor 7 is switched on and off by a ball float switch 10, 11 or a proximity or capacitive device. The extruder is heated to soften but not liquefy the substance, which may be air or water cooled at the extruder nozzle.
