Abstract

1,210,249. Balancing; driving gear. V. HERON. Sept. 27,1967, No. 29402/70. Divided out of 1, 210, 245. Headings F1B and F1M. An engine assembly includes two counterrotating masses, one of which is the crank-shaft 81 and the other a counter flywheel 89, a piston 82 connected to the crank-shaft for imparting power impulses to it, gears 86, 87 connecting the counter flywheel to the crank-shaft and a torsionally flexible or electromagnetic vibration insulating power transmission device 91 having an input element directly connected to one of the counterrotating masses. The moments of inertia of the other counter-rotating mass and the input element of the vibration insulating power transmission device at least partly balance each other. One end of the countershaft 85 carries a flyweight 88 and the counter flywheel has a heavy side on the diametrically opposite side of the countershaft from the flyweight.
