Abstract

1,210,146. Friction clutches. LUK LAMELLEN-UND KUPPLUNGSBAU G.m.b.H. 14 March, 1968, No. 12434/68. Heading F2C. In a friction clutch engaged by a diaphragm spring 9 fulcrummed at 12 on a driving casing 8 which is connected to a presser plate 11 by tangentially arranged bowed flexible strips 4 that bias the presser plate to a disengaged position, the strips 4 are longitudinally precompressed to provide a constant axial spring bias on the presser plate 11 throughout its operating range. The mid point of each strip 4 is riveted at 15 to the presser plate 11 whilst the ends of each strip are riveted at 14 to the casing 8. As shown three strips are provided and the adjacent ends of each pair are secured to the casing by a common rivet 14.
