Abstract

1,209,730. De-oiling waxes. EDELEANU G.m.b.H. 8 Sept., 1969 [9 Oct., 1968], No. 44266/69. Heading C5W. Oil-containing waxes are de-oiled with a solvent in a process in which the solvent is recovered in the vapour state and at least partially recycled to the de-oiling stage without prior condensation, thus providing a regulator for the temperature of the de-oiling mix. The wax for treatment is generally that obtained by the de-waxing of a hydrocarbon oil, e.g. a spindle oil-containing paraffin wax. Specified solvents are dichloromethane, dichloroethane, acetone, butanone, benzene and mixtures thereof.
