Abstract

1,208,834. Articulated marine structures; wells &c. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE D'ENTREPRISES METALLIQUES. 21 Feb., 1968 [24 Feb., 1967], No. 8474/68. Headings E1F and E1H. A marine off-shore platform 1 comprises a base 6 fixed to the marine bed a column 2 pivotally connected by universal joint 4, 5 to the base and floats 35 at the upper end of the column to ensure its hydrostatic stability. In the embodiment shown a plate 18 mounted on the lower end of the column surrounding the universal joint is brought into position on the base by guide pins 17. The base 6 can be perforated at its bottom 9 to permit the drilling of well 10 as a continuation of central well 3. (For Figure see next page)
