Abstract
1,206,907. Aluminium alloys. FURUKAWA ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. June 6, 1969, [June 6, 1968; Aug.2, 1968], No.28688/69. Heading C7A. Al alloys for electrical conductors consist, by weight, of Sb 0À01-0À6%, Mg 0À05-0À6%, and up to 1À5% of one or more elements (including those deriving from impurities in the A1) whose binding energy with Sb or Mg is less than that between Sb and Mg, the balance being Al. The one or more elements may be Fe, Cu, Zn, Ni, Mn and Te. Wire rod may be cold drawn down to hardened conductor suitable for power transmission and distribution lines. Semi-hard or soft conductor suitable for communication systems, indoor wiring and coils, may be produced by annealing the hardened conductor at 150-500C., optionally followed by colddrawing.
