Abstract
1,206,380. Coated Cu-alloy powder. EUTECTIC WELDING ALLOYS CORP. Sept.15, 1967 [Sept. 22, 1966], No.12605/70. Divided out of 1,205,793. Headings C7A and C7F. A powder useful in welding and flame-spraying consists of Cu-coated particles of an alloy consisting, by weight, of:- Si 0À1-3% Mn 0-1% P 0À9% Cr 0-1% Sn 0-10% Ni 0-30% Cu balance. Coating may be effected by immersing the alloy powder in copper sulphate solution. Phosphorus may be deposited on the Cu-coating e.g. by chemical or electrolytic treatment in dry mixture with copper phosphate: oxidation of the Cu/P layers produces different colours. Further colouring may be achieved by alloying Au, Ag or Pt with the Cu-coating e.g. by chemical displacement in solution.
