Abstract

1,205,084 Textile flyer. C. EUGEN MAIER METALLVERARBEITUNG G.m.b.H. 29 May, 1968 [29 July, 1967], No. 25648/68. Heading D1D. A flyer has an inner part of at least one leg formed from a steel or stainless steel tube and a surrounding part formed from aluminium, magnesium or alloys thereof or plastics material. In Fig. 1 not shown an internally polished steel tube (2) runs through a transverse shoulder of the flyer and down one leg to form a thread guiding and flyer reinforcing member. The lower end of the tube projects from the cast aluminium and carries a member (8), Fig. 5 not shown, formed with an external slot (9) into which a threaded peg in the presser arm engages to vertically locate the presser arm. The presser arm is provided with upper and lower rings to encircle the flyer leg, the lower ring engaging the lower end of the steel tube and being provided with a rounded beading for guiding the thread to the presser foot.
