Abstract

1,204,848. False twist tubes. KUGELFISCHER GEORG SCHAFER & CO. 21 March, 1969 [4 Oct., 1968], No. 14855/69. Heading D1D. A false twist tube 1 is mounted for rotation in the crotch formed by the peripheries of two pairs of discs (the upper disc of each pair shown at 2 and 3) and is pressed into the crotch by a spring loaded symmetrically positioned further disc 4, there being magnetic means' 10 serving to carry the twist tube 1 with the further disc 4 when the latter is swung aside. As described, the magnetic means ccmprises two flat magnets (9) 9' positioned on either side of the further disc 4 cooperating directly with the twist tube 1 or magnetic collars thereon. A soft iron head 14 is mounted on a non-magnetic support secured to the magnets support to provide a return path for the magnetic flux. In operation the twist tube is engaged only by the discs, there being air gap between the magnets and the twist tube 1.
