A false twist devices comprises two axially parallel rollers 2, 5 or discs having a ratio of diameters of at least 1.25:1 and adapted to support a twist tube 4 between them, and magnetic means which serves in use to support a twist tube in contact with the rollers. The ratio of the diameters of the rollers may be 1:1.25 to 3. The rollers may each comprise a pair of discs mounted on a common hub.
