Abstract

1,203,051. 051. Photographic silver halide materials. GEVAERT-AGFA N. V. Feb. 6, 1968 [Feb.15, 1967], No.7252/67. Heading G2C. Also in Division C2] A photographic light-sensitive silver halide material, having reduced tendency to yellowing, contains in a non-light-sensitive water-permeable colloid layer at least one organic compound containing a mercapto group or a thioxo group having thioxo-thiol tautomerism, a group rendering the compound fast to diffusion such as an aliphatic radical with 8 to 20 carbon atoms in a straight chain and a group rendering the compound watersoluble or alkali-soluble. Compounds specified include alpha-mercapto-stearic or palmitic acid, N-(2 -hexodecyloxy-5-sulphophenyl)-2 -mercaptoethyl urethane or a heterocyclic nitrogen-containing thione containing a carboxylic or sulphonic acid group and a long-chain alkyl group such.as a 1:2:4-triazoline-thione, a benzimidazolinebenzthiazoline- or benzoxazoline-thione, a thiadiazolinethione or a tetrazoline-thione containing such groups. The colloid layer may be an antistress layer coated over the emulsion which may by an X-ray emulsion. The emulsion may contain the usual additives and may include mercury compounds as stabilizers.
