Abstract

1,201,636. Valves; pipe joints. K. H. NEATE. 7 Oct., 1968 [12 Oct., 19671, No. 46607/67. Headings F2G and F2V. A liquid conduit assembly, which is adapted to extend through a radiator chamber A and which is capable of controllably supplying such chamber with hot liquid, comprises first and second pipes 1 and 2 respectively, of which the first has an enlarged, socket-forming extremity 1a and an obliquely cut edge 1b, and the second has an obliquely cut edge 2b which forms one edge of a notch formed in, but spaced from the extremity of the pipe 2. The notched extremity of pipe 2 is rotatably received within the socket portion of pipe 1 such that by varying the relative disposition of the two oblique edges 1b and 2b the amount of flow into chamber A from the inlet pipe 2 can be adjusted. Retention of pipe 2 in a given disposition relative to pipe 1 is achieved by increasing compression pressure on a compression member 5, such increase or subsequent decrease, being effected by adjustment of a nut 4.
