Abstract
1,201,092. Electroluminescence. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 23 Aug., 1967 [3 Sept., 1966], No. 38903/67. Heading C4S. A display panel comprises an electroluminescent layer 3 fed by crossed sets of electrodes 2, 7. To mitigate the defect of prior art devices (i.e. blurring of the image point) each of the electrodes 7 communicates with the E-L layer 3 via a row of electrodes 5 and a material 6 whose resistance decreases with increased applied voltage irrespective of polarity, e.g. silicone carbide powder. As described, electrodes 5 are annular and formed integrally with an insulator plate 4 and conductors 7, e.g. by printed circuit techniques.
