Abstract
1,198,616. Resistance hot pressing. JOHNSON, MATTHEY & CO. Ltd. Oct. 20, 1967 [Oct. 21, 1966], No.47156/66. Heading C7D. A sintered composite metal such as an electrical contact is formed by resistance hot pressing a metal powder or compact of e.g. Ag, Pt, Ag-Cd0 or Ag-Ag Cd0 with a metal-rod of e. g. Cu which supplies the current and pressure and which is sinter bonded to the powder during hot pressing. The powder is supported in a mould of Mo, W or an alloy of Ti-Zr-Mo.
