1,198,513. Making beadlets. ROUSSELUCLAF. 18 July, 1967 [11 Aug., 1966], No. 32985/67. Heading A5B. Substantially homogeneous beadlets containing one or more active ingredients are made by incorporating an aqueous suspension or solution of the active ingredient(s) in a hydrophilic colloid (e.g. gelatin, a gum, carrageen, an alginate or albumen), pouring the solution or suspension into a water-immiscible animal, vegetable or mineral oil whilst both phases are at a temperature above the gelpoint of the colloid, emulsifying by agitation and cooling the emulsion to between 0‹ and -70‹C. to coagulate and then harden the beadlets so formed. Examples relate to gelatin beadlets containing hydroxy cobalamine acetate; 17#-hydroxy-17α-methyl-estra-4, 9, 11- trien-3-one and a colourant.
