1198466 Transferring developed electrostatic images RANK XEROX Ltd 4 Oct 1967 [11 Oct 1966 (2)] 45224/67 Headings B8R RL R222 R247 R248 and R296 [Also in Division B6] In a xerographic copying apparatus, a sheet 12 receives a developed image at a transfer station D in known manner and is then stripped from xerographic drum 10 by a corotron 22 which emits ions having a net polarity opposite to that induced in the sheet 12 by the transfer corotron 16. Thus, the electrostatic attraction between the sheet 2 and drum 10 is reduced to permit a puffer 18 to separate the sheet from the drum 10. A pre-transfer corotron 24 reduces the charge differential between exposed and unexposed portions of the drum surface before transfer, such that voltage variations on the drum have reduced effects in varying the rate of corona emissions of the corotron 22.
