Abstract
1,197,936. Double twist spindle. PALITEX PROJECT-CO. G.m.b.H. 20 Sept., 1967 [16 June, 1967; 29 Aug., 1967], No. 42729/67. Heading DID. The spindle of a multiple part two for one twisting spindle is provided at the level of a yarn disc 16 with a transverse recess 7 into which a shaped part is inserted, the shaped part consisting of two plastics matching parts 8 and 9 with an intermediate matching part 10 made from wear resistant material e.g. sintered corundum housed therebetween. The parts define between them a curved yarn guide channel 11 inside which yarn entering vertically in the centre from stationary tube 4 is deflected along the curved path of the channel into the radial direction. When part 10 becomes worn due to yarn rubbing against it can be replaced by merely removing part 9 from the recess. The parts 8 and 9 are preferably made from flexible plastics material such that when inserted in the recess they are held in position by slight deformation. Matching surfaces 12, 13 are roughened or formed with small knobs, grooves or fins to compensate for slight measurement tolerances. The shaped part may define two curved guide channels in which case it consists of a symmetrical plastics lower part and the upper plastics matching parts of identical shape which between them house a symmetrical intermediate part of wear-resistant material, (Figs. 5 and 6).
