Abstract

A traveller for ring-spinning comprises a body part of non-metallic, e.g. plastics, material with a recess in the yarn-engaging region and an insert of wear-resisting material, e.g. metal or ceramic material, which is introduced into the recess after the body is formed along a line normal to the plane of the traveller. The insert is held against withdrawal in the p plane of the traveller by one or more ribs on the recess or the traveller engaging a corresponding depression or depressions in the insert of recess and by making the recess and insert longer in extent than a semicircle. The ends of the insert may abut against shoulders formed at the ends of the recess.
