1,197,628. Agglomerating food powders. NESTLE'S PRODUCTS Ltd. 14 Dec., 1967 [30 Dec., 1966], No. 56818/67 Heading A2E. [Also in Divisions B1-2 and B5] In apparatus for agglomerating a powder (especially food products such as tea, coffee, milk, and baby food) the powder is projected in a divergent stream from the tubular nozzle 9, and saturated steam or a mixture of steam and water are projected in conical containers from the outer coaxial annular nozzle 10 (the lip of which is slightly set back), and from the downstream annular wing nozzle 11, to impinge on the outside and inside respectively of the powder stream. The distance between the nozzles 9, 11 may be adjustable.
