A striker plate comprises a plastics member I having a notched surface for engaging a lock bolt and or either side of the member a metal reinforcing member is rivetted thereto. Countersunk holes 8 are provided for mounting screws. One reinforcing member has a lateral extension to coact with a member of the lock to act as an anti burst device.
