Abstract
119,605. Maudslay, R. W., and Standard Motor Co. Feb. 18, 1918. Hoods.-Relates to flexible hinged sections or doors which are detachably connected between the hood of a motor car and the upper edge of the body. Means for latching the section in the closed position comprises a plate D on the section B, C adapted to engage the latch E which is pivoted at F on a plate G secured to the flexible material A of the hood and pressed into operative position by a spring I on the pivot F. The latch is engaged by slamming the section, and may be disengaged by the bending of the section when pushed to open or by a finger piece J on the latch member E. The piece J also serves as a stop to limit the spring-pressed movement of the member E.
