Abstract
1,195,551. Cu-Ni-Fe alloy. LANGLEY ALLOYS Ltd. Feb. 7, 1968 [March 17, 1967], No. 12703/67. Heading C7A. A high strength, ductile alloy with a magnetic permeability less than 1À3, comprises:- Al 1-4% Fe over 12% up to 50% Mn 4-6% Ni 10-20% Cr 0-10% Nb 0-3% Si 0-3% the balance being Cu in an amount of at least 20% and has a Fe/Ni ratio of at least 1 when the Ni content is less than 15%. The alloys may be used in the as cast state, may be hot worked and may be precipitation hardened at 400-600‹ C. to increase the proof stress thereof.
