Abstract

1,193,999. Conveying photographic sheets. PAVELLE Ltd. Jan.6, 1969 [Oct. 11, 1967], No.46420/67. Heading G2A. Sheets of sensitized photographic paper are passed through a bath 8 of processing liquid by being entrained between the curved profile of a guide plate 7 which dips into the bath and an endless chain 1 in the form of a filament with balls arranged thereon at regular intervals. Such a chain may be made of a plastics material, or stainless steel. Fig. 1 shows two such baths 8, 9 in series, and the profiles of the guide plates may be of different lengths, so as to provide a different processing time in each bath. Excess liquid may be removed by squeegee rollers as the sheet leaves each bath. The paper or film sheets may have perforations along the edges, Fig. 4 (not shown), to facilitate engagement by the chain. The perforations may be made in the sheet before it is fed to the conveyor chain, and trimmed off afterwards.
