In a continuous film processing machine, a film or piece of film is carried through the processing tank between a pair of endless flexible parallel conveying elements 4, the edges of the film being held in grooves 5a, 5b of the elements 4. More than two conveying elements may be provided to accommodate more than one film. The elements 4 pass over rollers 2, 3 which are laterally adjustable to accommodate various film widths. The elements 4 may be flexible rubber bands or chains with links formed of plastics material having the guide grooves 5a, 5b, in their sides. At the entry and exit points F, G, the elements 4 are more widely spaced apart than in the aperture run through the tank to permit the film to be easily fed into and removed from the system. Feed rollers 11 Fig. 3 (not shown) and a chute (10) facilitate entry of the film between elements 4.
