Abstract

1,193,872. Mattress covers. VONO Ltd. 4 March, 1968 [2 March, 1967], No. 9837/67. Heading A4M. A loose cover for a mattress 16 and a base 17 supporting the mattress 16 includes a first part 10 with a top and side walls to cover the mattress 16, a second part 11 to cover the sides and ends of the base 17, a fly section 13 interconnecting the walls of the two parts 10, 11 and extending inwardly between the mattress 16 and base 17, and a web 19 along the bottom edges of the second part 11 extending inwardly beneath the bottom of the base 17, the web 19 and fly section 13 being elastically urged inwardly. The cover may be of stretch material and/or it may be provided with elasticated hems 18, 20 in the fly section 13 and hem 19. Additionally the hems 18, 20 may be drawn inwardly by transverse elastic bands. As shown, the cover is formed in one piece from the same material. Alternatively, the top wall may be of a different material from the remainder of the cover and may comprise ticking or a quilted material.
