Abstract
1,193,801. Railway trolley. GREENSIDE HYDRAULICS Ltd. 11 Aug., 1969 [18 May, 1968], No. 23765/68. Heading B7L. A railway trolley comprises at least one endunit 1 having a pair of flanged wheels 3 one at each end of a cross-bar 5 and at least one frame unit 2 having a pair of flanged wheels 9 one at one end of each of a pair of side members 12 which are connected together by at least two crossbars 13, together with a pair of removable pins 17 for engagement with holes at the ends of the side members 12 of the frame unit 2 remote from its wheels 9 and with holes in the end unit, so as to form a four-wheeled trolley. Holes are also provided at the ends of the side members 12 adjacent the wheels 9 of the frame unit for connecting by further removable pins 22 either a second frame unit to form a sixwheeled trolley or a pair of link bars connected to a similar but reversed frame unit and end unit forming an eight-wheeled trolley, Fig. 7 (not shown). Some or all of the holes at the ends of the side members 12 remote from the frame unit wheels 9 may be elongated in the lengthwise direction of the side members 12 to enable a long trolley to negotiate curves in the track. Further frame units may be added to the six-wheeled trolley, Fig. 8 (not shown). The pins 17, 22 may be provided with upward extensions 19, 21 to locate a box and/or seat on the trolley.
