Abstract

1482309 Railway vehicle undercarriages MAK MASCHINENBAU GmbH 21 Oct 1975 [27 Nov 1974] 43134/75 Heading B7L A rail vehicle is provided with a linkage comprising two guide rods 3, Fig. 1, which is the sole means for transmitting tractive/braking forces between a wheel set and the vehicle frame and extends directly from the vehicle frame to the mid-length point of the axle of the wheel set, the rods 3 being pivotally mounted at A, B on a coupling member 2 which is rotatably supported on the axle midpoint. The rods 3 are spaced vertically by a distance e at the points A, B and can transmit both traction and compression forces. Rods 4 transmitting only traction forces can alternatively be employed, such as in Fig. 3 where the axles of a multiaxle bogie are interconnected by parallel guide members 5 extending between the coupling members 2 of each axle. In driven axles, the housing of a wheel set gearing may serve as the coupling member.
