Abstract

119,319. Flugel, B. J. V. A. Nov. 1, 1917. Pressure-regulating valves; safety valves. - A reducing-valve, for controlling the supply of gas to a low pressure pipe, e.g. the induction pipe of an internal-combustion engine from a highpressure storage chamber, comprises a disk P<3>, Fig. 4, on one part of a crank P acted on by the gas pressure and a valve 0 which controls the admission of gas to the reducing valve chamber X. a spring R acting on the crank to open this valve when the pressure in this chamber is reduced sufficiently. The spring R is adjustable by means of a collar V actuated by a screw W, and a spring Q resting in a recess A<2> in a projection A<3> on the valve casing counterbalances the action of the spring R on the disk P<3>. The valve 0 is grooved at the sides and co-acts with a conical seating M<x>. A spring Y adjustable by a screw cap controls a relief valve Y<3> which relieves the pressure if pressure in chamber B rises too highly. A non-return and relief valve on the low-pressure pipe comprises a valve D, Fig. 2, the stem D<1> of which is encircled by a spring E arranged in a recess in a screwed plug H adjusted bv a milled handle J. When the valve D is opened gas passes to a pipe C<2> leading to the engine.
