Novel compounds of formula wherein R is alkyl or aryl, R 1 is H, alkyl or aryl, R 2 is H or carboxylic acid acyl and R 3 is carboxylic acid or acyl including carbamoyl and N-phenylcarbamoyl or R 2 and R 3 together represent furfurylidene or thenylidene optionally substituted by NO 2 , are prepared by appropriate substitution of the amine of formula which is prepared by hydrogenation of the azetidine of formula obtained by simultaneous condensation and cyclization of the compounds of formulae Pharmaceutical compositions having antiinflammatory anti-bacterial and central nervous system activity comprise an above novel compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
