1,227,965. Derivatives of 1,3,8-oxadiazo[4,5]- spirodecane. FRANCE, ARMED FORCES, MINISTER OF. 3 July, 1968 [5 July, 1967; 21 June, 1968], No. 31702/68. Heading C2C. Novel derivatives of 1,3,8-oxadiazo-[4,5] spirodecane of the Formula I wherein R 1 and R 2 each are C 1-3 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl or C 7-10 aralkyl and R 1 can also be H; or R 1 and R 2 together form, with the carbon atom to which they are attached, a cycloalkyl ring having up to 6 carbon atoms; and R 3 is H or C 1-3 alkyl and the non-toxic acid addition salts thereof are prepared by reacting 3-(4-fluorobenzoyl) propyl chloride in an inert organic solvent in the presence of an alkaline condensation agent and traces of iodine with 1,3,8 oxadiaza [4,5] spirodecanes of the Formula V which are obtained by hydrogenolysis of the corresponding 8 - benzyl - 1,3,8 - oxadiaza [4,5]- spiro decanes, obtained by reacting compounds of the formula R 1 COR 2 with the appropriate N- benzyl - 4 - hydroxy - 4 - (R 3 - carbamoyl)- piperidines. Pharmaceutical compositions, having neuroleptic, sedative, cataleptogenic and adrenolytic properties and suitable for oral or rectal administration, contain the above novel compounds or acid addition salts and pharmaceutical supports or carriers.
