Abstract

1,192,644. Photographic developing apparatus. HARPER & TUNSTALL Ltd. Sept. 3, 1968 [Aug. 2, 1967], No. 35464/67. Heading G2A. A method of, and apparatus for, developing photo-sensitive sheets by applying liquid to the exposed surfaces thereof from a roller Y, in which the initial portions of the sheets are maintained substantially free of developer. A sheet 3 is fed between rollers A, B and guided by fingers F1 to the gap between a conveyer C and the roller Y, the gap and the rollers being adjusted so that the first #" of the leading edge is not wetted. The sheet is then flexed over the roller Y and is wet thereby, fingers F2 picking off the developed sheet from the roller. The sheet then passes between rollers P1, Z on to the heated, thermostatically controlled, conveyer C, which is rotated 5% faster than the feeding rollers, so that tension in the sheet squeezes out liquid from the roller Y. The almost dry print is ironed by a heated roller P4.
