Abstract

1,225,287. Electro-photographic apparatus. RANK XEROX Ltd. June 17, 1968 [June 20, 1967], No.28747/68. Heading G2H. A xerographic copying machine has an assembly 10 for feeding a cleaning web for simultaneously removing residual powder from a drum 20 and from a pressure roll 47. A web roll 116, Fig. 3, supplies a cleaning web 118 around pressure roller 124, around take up roller 125, around a second pressure roller 127 and then on to take up roller 125. The take up roller is intermittently rotated by a lever 255 oscillated by a cam 250 and cam follower 252. Undirectional movement is imparted to the take up roll via a one-way clutch (253) Fig. 5 (not shown). A sensing arm 297, Fig. 3, bears against the take up roll 125 so that upon increase in roll diameter a stop finger 291 is repositioned along cam surface 292 to reduce the travel of cam follower 252 to effect a constant linear incremental advance of the cleaning web for each oscillation of the cam follower.
