Abstract

1351499 Electro-photography AGFAGEVAERT A G 26 Nov 1968 [27 Nov 1967] 36257/71 Divided out of 1254450 Headings G2A, G2H and G2X A document copying apparatus has an exposure window 12b and a carriage 17 which during the exposure step traverses the window from right to left and which carries a photo-conductive web roll 22, pair of advancing rollers 23/24, corona discharge device 26, knife 39, transparent gate 28, pair of guide rollers 29/30, and deflector hood 31a. The apparatus also comprises an endless belt 32, liquid development chamber 44, drying chamber having an endless belt 48 and infrared heater 52, and outlet 11a. An image of a stationary original 33 is projected strip-bystrip through transparent gate 28 on to the web which is advanced from roll 22 at a speed equal to that of the carriage whereby, after the web passes through the nip of guide rollers 29/30 and is deflected by hood 31a, it comes to rest above moving endless belt 32. When the carriage has completed its traversal the web is cut by the pivoting of a lever 31 carrying knife 39 and the cut sheet is advanced by endless belt 32 to liquid development chamber 44.
