Abstract

1,192,434. Valves. S. ELCHYSHYN. 23 May, 1967, No. 23908/67. Heading F2V. A valve has a plug 18 movable into and out of engagement with a seat 12, the plug being formed by a resilient-walled stepped metal cylinder which acts to vary the throttling effect as the cylinder is moved further into the seat which is formed by an inwardly projecting land 56 on a flexible metal cylinder. When the large diameter portion of the plug is in engagement with the land a spider 60 forces a flange 50 on the cylinder on to a spacer 46 to flex the land 56 inwards to seal with the plug.
