Abstract
1189925 Ultrasonic cleaning apparatus CLEVITE CORP 14 Aug1968 [14 Aug1967] 38836/68 Headings H4J J7E J5K2 J21M J6E J24 and A1B Cleaning apparatus comprises a cleaning tank for receiving liquid and articles to be cleaned, the tank having a plane surface to which is bonded a transducer constituted by a disc of Piezo-electric material, and means for inducing oscillations of the transducer. In an embodiment a transducer (18) Fig. 1, is bonded to the base of a stainless steel tank by an epoxy resin with the interposition of an open mesh cloth of glass fibres. Ultrasonic vibrations are generated in the transducer by a transistor oscillator. Using detergent solution or a solvent the apparatus may clean dentures, shaver heads, jewellery, fountain pen points, sparking plugs, tools, eye glasses and silverware.
